Closures come in two different bases–lace and silk–and can be glued, taped, or sewn down. Although they are both applied the same and used to achieve the same overall result, they are quite different. Many times in order to be successful at the blending process, constant heat damage.Closures are used to cover the front of the hair line where you would normally leave hair out to give your install a natural hairline appearance.
HOW TO CARE FOR CLOSURE
Closures are very delicate, it is important to take extra care to prevent damage in the from of balding. This can be caused by, excessive tugging, brushing/combing, scratching with fingernails or foreign objects, applying product directly on the closure, rough handling, or vigorous washing.
You must handle with care. Closures cannot be treated like a real scalp, they are meant to mimic a real scalp. Each hair is individually ventilated into the base, knotted and secured with a strong adhesive. Based on the construction of a closure, you should comb/brush the hair from the ends, working your way up to the root while hold the hair at the root to prevent tension. Hair loss on closures is relatively easy because it is not wefted like extensions. Improper care of your closure will cause balding and unfortunately there is no way to fix this. The most obvious difference between lace frontals and lace closures are the size. Lace frontals are bigger mainly because they run temple to temple to cover the entire hairline. Lace closures are smaller because their primary purpose is to close off an install hence the name closure. Closures typically only cover a horseshoe size portion at the top or front of an install.
Comb the hair gently with your fingers to remove tangles when washing. You can also use with tooth comb but we recommend use fingers.
Spray hair with a leave in conditioner, to refresh waves or curls. Air-dry hair for the best curl formation. Gently blot hair with a towel and don't blow dry hair.
Before going to bed, tie your hair up gently or wrap it to prevent tangling. Do not sleep on damp hair. Sleep with a satin cap or on a satin covered pillow.
